I know I’m not alone in hoping to get better every day

That the darkness
Is a past tense

I don’t want to get old
and be counting all the things that I’ve lost
Without any comprehension of how my own endeavours
Played a part in all the chances I’ve scoffed.
I’m tired of living in fear
I’m tired of not making it clear
Tired of hesitations
Tired of reservations
and hearing what I wanted to hear.

But maybe when I get to 60
I’ll be thankful for this time.
Free my mind.
